So this place has been the talk of the town recently. The ramen craze has hit London by a storm and Bone Daddies is rumoured the best place to get yo’ noodle broth. By now, I had read one too many blog posts on this place. I had to get myself there before another article hit my inbox telling me how ammmazzing it is.
Of course this is a no reservation kind of place but the table turnover is high, so our wait was the time it takes to drink a pint of Kirin.
The waiting area is next to the delicious food that streams out of the kitchen – salt on the wound for those hungry tummies. We had seen enough food that we wanted to order the entire menu. We didn’t quite do that, but anyway, here’s what we had:
Yellowtail Sashimi – chilli, ponzu, coriander
Salmon Sashimi – shiso, lime soy
Sweet and spicy pork ribs – Best ribs I have ever had. Ever.
Tantanmen – with sesame, chilli, pork mince, bok choy (chicken bone broth)
I had read on one of my favorite food blogs that this is the head chefs recommendation. It does have a kick to it, so non spice lovers take care.
I really love the atmosphere here, it’s busy and buzzing. Rightly, so. After my first visit I’m already thinking about the next time I can go back.
I would order the salmon sashimi over the yellowtail, which is rather unlike me. After we devoured the sashimi we were brought our pork ribs. The sticky glaze with sesame seeds sprinkled over is so good. So good that I may have been spooning the glaze on its own into my mouth. Ahem.
As for the ramen, the tantanmen is just divine. Normally when I go back to restaurants I like to try other items on the menu. The tantanmen was everything and more. I will order it again, without a doubt.
The tantanmen, just order it. You’ll see.
